Workshop Your Business With Mike In May & June

Saturday, 14 May 2011

Time to refresh your knowledge and business growth strategies?

In May and June I’m running 5 intensive business building – Entrepreneurial success workshops – facilitated by myself with input from other very interesting people.

In the package (for Queenslanders) will be 3 hours one on one, PLUS a series of afterhours business workshops that will be held at my boardroom at MiniMovers Head Office.

Mentor 1-1 sessions will be booked for this month, where you and I will discuss your business goals and work through your most important issues.

Following this we have developed the Entrepreneurial Success program which is to be held on the following times and dates:

• 4.30pm- 7.30pm – Tuesday 31st May, 2011
• 4.30pm- 7.30pm – Wednesday 1st June, 2011
• 4.30pm- 7.30pm – Tuesday 7th June, 2011
• 4.30pm- 7.30pm – Wednesday 8th June, 2011
• 2.00pm- 5.00pm – Saturday 11th June, 2011 (Final Day & Celebration of Completion)

The program workshops will be in Lecture/Roundtable format using Chatham House Rules.

We have secured Queensland Government funding which allows us to bring the cost down for Queensland based businesses to about $200 per person. This INCLUDES the course and a 1-1 3 hour mentoring session with me. These prices include GST. Group size will be approximately 10. Non-Queensland based businesses are subject to a surcharge. Obviously this is a smaller number, so I’m running this on a best date match up / first in basis.

The intention is to use myself and external providers or resources to introduce information/debate around business issues that affect you including:

• Financial planning
• Managing (delegating)
• Marketing
• Business planning
• Business trends

We also plan on adding/adjusting some content to address any individual concerns / challenges you may have. This is not for the faint hearted – you will be exposed to leading edge concepts. The learning will be akin to “drinking from a fire hose”.

This is your opportunity to work ON your business.

At this stage all I require is an indication (alice@whichway.biz or Ph 07 37 22 33 44) if you have an interest, with dates and days that suit you for your individual mentoring session, and how many from your business may be attending.

Where’s The Leadership?

Thursday, 12 May 2011

I don’t know about you, but both (all) sides of Politics seem to have lost the plot. Instead of being visionary and global and developing great strategies to ensure better lifestyles for future generations, they are more intent on the media reaction/coverage of silly things like illegal immigrants (.00% of an already too low immigration number) and carbon tax, which in no way is ever going to influence the production of carbon (all while smart business people are registering their businesses, overseas to avoid all this).

The Budget is same. They now announce expenditure 5 years from now, over and over – what a con.

We need to focus on creating entrepreneurs; the future of Australia is dependent on these value creators.

In my studies, now all round the world I’ve learned that we, in Australia are not good at creating entrepreneurs.

Come on – let’s see some leadership.

Cash Is King

Thursday, 5 May 2011

I regularly mentor prestart-ups. Inevitably they roll in with a business idea that has negative cash flow (most expenses need to be paid before the customer pays).

When I point this out and explain that combining this with strong growth will lead to substantial cash flow short falls – they comment that “I’m lucky” in MiniMovers, as my cash flow is positive. Customers pay (electronically) upon completion; we have the cash in the bank before we pay our people (our biggest expense) later that week.

“Luck” is a funny beast – I rejected many business ideas before finding my MiniMovers with its positive cash flow.
